Christopher’s Grill, Covent Garden

Covent Garden. Tourist central, yet every time I walk down the quaint streets the gems I seem to find never seizes to amaze me.

Easter bank holiday came around, which obviously means brunch with some of my favourite bloggers – Tazzamina and Zahra from The Luxe Edition. We decided to head down to Christopher’s, which I had been meaning to do for a while.

Grand staircases, bright and pretty lights – The interior is as pretty as you would expect any place around Covent Garden .

We were given 3 different menus.. Menu’s really stress me out because I tend to be gluttonous and over-order. This was definitely one of those times.

In the confused state we were in, we decided to order a few different dishes to share and it came in all its; glory, each dish a piece of art on its’ own. Easter weekend meant there were a few specials – Triple Chocolate Eggs, Hot Cross French Toast, Avo Toast, Eggs Royale, and a few more.

I often get asked how bloggers manage to get that perfect top shot. Here’s the real truth.. its not for the light hearted. Taking a top shot in a restaurant means putting yourself out there.. sometimes standing on chairs, and as it happened at Christopher’s, standing on a step ladder! Yep, you heard it right! We were offered a step ladder to get that shot right!

So here we go..

Hot Cross French Toast

Unless you’ve been under an Instagram-less rock for the last year, you’ll know how famous Christopher’s French Toast is. Getting into the Easter spirit, Christopher’s Easter take on this dish is this beauty – the Hot Cross French Toast. The french toast, not only appeasing to the eyes, but also lived up to the hype. The french toast was deliciously soft, and the chocolate rich yet light, which made for a perfect dish. Although light, it was very rich so definitely save it for the end.

Next came the eggs..

And the Avotoast..

The showstopper and one to definitely write home about was the Triple Chocolate Eggs..

My favourite part of the whole brunch.. what a piece of art this was! Almost too yummy to eat (but not too much). The intricacies of this dish were almost too difficult to capture in a photograph! SO beautiful.. and besides that, my tastebuds were desperate for some action. Chocolate lovers heaven, this was just a treat to eat. The chocolate bomb revealed a mix of a rich chocolate brownie and matcha ice cream with pistachios – perfection!

I have to give a shout out to their Super Smoothies and Raw Juices menu.. especially the Early Chocolate Shot – a shot of chocolate goodness!

Overall, we all agreed that our trip to Christopher’s was definitely worth every penny. The venue is beautiful, the food great and above all else, the service was great! Needless to say, I’ve never been offered a step ladder for photographic purposes before this for sure. If its for a casual weekend brunch with your girlfriends or a date with your loved one, Christopher’s is definitely a must visit. I will definitely be going back to try their signature French Toast, which I occasionally drool at  Instagram over! PS. Watch out for those bloggers – its a very popular place for fashion bloggers and foodies alike!
