Bustronome London

London. Paris. 2 iconic cities. Whichever you prefer or love, you can’t agree that everything that comes out of these 2 cities is pretty damn epic!

When a Parisian idea comes to London it’s so exciting. I recently got invited by Bustronome, which had its birth in Paris and moved across to London, and we’re so glad it did.

Bustronome, as the name suggests, is a luxurious bus that drives around the best attractions of London, all the while serving you some gastronomic beauties on board. (All of which is halal, btw!)

So I need to add a disclaimer here… I was having one of those days where nothing was going right for me, you know the kind where you should’ve just stayed in bed! Bad hair day, crazy day at work, leaving work late to missing the bus I was meant to board, which my friend was already on! But the guys onboard were so lovely and stopped off at St Paul’s to pick me up!! I was super grateful! But that meant a very flustered Fizzah and I didn’t get to take many photos either! 🙁

I’ve been on a food bus before, and my last experience was very basic, so I didn’t know what to expect. But can safely say I was well and truly blown away by Bustronome.

The bus itself is stunning, with a full glass panoramic ceiling, and the cleverest, ingenious ways to serve food on a moving bus, it was perfect for a romantic evening (or girly date night in our case)

A 6 course halal meal – all halal including halal drinks – all the while driving through the most beautiful city in the world (not biased at all am I?!)

What I loved about the night was the service! Our waiter was so friendly, we ended up following each other on Instagram by the end of the night! Our waiter, JD was super helpful and informative all basked with one of the best Parisian accents I’ve heard in London which made the evening so much better. Moreover, no alcohol is served onboard. So if anyone wants to drink it will need to be or ordered! They also had some non alcoholic drinks, no alcohol Chardonnay was amazing, they also had a few other juices that were great and not to forget the strawberry flavoured tea!! 🙂

My favourite meal of the night was definitely the prawn and pumpkin starter.

The Bustronome version of their fish and chips was so good! The fish was soft, yet so tasty and was layered in a layer of tangy mayonnaise. I could have done with this portion be a full on fish though.

The duck was one of the courses I didn’t like at all. I was quite surprised because I usually love a bit of duck, but the meat was tough and smelt a bit of kidneys for some random reason and your girl isn’t a fan of kidneys to be honest! It looked pretty though.

The dessert was a little underwhelming – they could have done so much with it but it was a bit too lemony for my liking. The meringue was decent though.

I have to say that the experience was definitely a lot better than the food. The food was good but nothing special, although the menu had clearly had a lot of thought put into it. Everything was not only suitable to be served on a moving bus but moreover, the quality of the food was great. Although I wasn’t a fan of the dessert but overall a brilliant experience. I would urge you all to try this out once in your life – it made for a very romantic night (with my girl!) Even though this meal was complimentary for me, it would have cost £100 pp which is a little overpriced as, after all, it is just a bus! But I guess I wouldn’t mind paying that for a special occasion and it really will impress the love of your life! Lucky for you, when you quote “TLH” when booking you’ll receive 20% your entire menu! That makes it £80pp (you’re welcome!!!)
