It goes without saying that Dubai is one of the most extravagant places you’ll ever visit, and I say this with the utmost confidence. Dubai 10 years ago was unrecognisable compared to the Dubai you will see today. Dubai’s economy, along with its’ skyline, has grown rapidly over the last few years. It’s hard to believe that about 60 years ago this place was just a desert!
Dubai is all about luxury, it’s a city that has alot of wealth and their restaurants and eateries reflect that in everything that they do. Thinking about the most instagrammable places in Dubai was a hard task because in all honesty, everything is insta-worthy! But here is my 2 pence on the very important matter with a mix of food and locations…
Imam Hussain Mosque
There are more mosques in Dubai than Starbucks (and that’s alot!) But every time we think of beautiful mosques in the Emirates we think of the Grand Mosque of Abu Dhabi. Yet, there is a gem of a mosque not many people know about on Al Wasl Road in the heart of Dubai…
Secret Garden by L’eto (City walk)
There’s a current obsession with flower walls or swings or bikes in London started by the likes of Elan Cafe. However, have you ever seen a place more decked out in flowers? What about a flower pillar? Or a flower ceiling? And the variety of flowers is so much fun, not to mention all the delicious pastries and foods they have to offer. If you love L’eto you will LOVE their Secret Garden (which isn’t much of a secret anymore)
Dubai Miracle Gardens
Speaking of flowers, huge structures of hearts, mickey mouse and an actual airplane made of real flowers! You will love this place for the endless insta-poses!
My version of this pic…
Shimmers on the Beach
If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know why this is my favourite place in Dubai. With the most stunning view of my favourite building in Dubai by far, Burj al Arab, Shimmers is one of the best places to go for an evening shisha or drinks for a great vibe with a beautiful view.
Palace Downtown
La Mer
It was my first time to visit La Mer, Dubai’s recent creation or a mix of beach, food and the cutest place. La Mer seems like the love child of South Africa and Miami – What a combo!
Some cute and yummy places in La Mer:
- iScream
- Masti
- Poco Loco
Abra ride in Madinat Jumeirah
On your trip to Dubai, you HAVE TO visit Madinat Jumeirah. It’s one of the few places in Dubai that remind me of the culture of this city. At 70 AED per person, the abra ride is a bit pricey but this is why you need to suck up the cost and do it..
Atlantis, The Palm
NEWLY OPENED: Blue Water Island
BONUS: SHEIKH ZAYED GRAND MOSQUE – ABU DHABI
About an hour’s drive from the hustle and bustle of Dubai and you arrive in Abu Dhabi. A much calmer city, with a totally different vibe to it. IEven if you’re just goin g to go for a day trip, you MUST visit the world famous Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, named after the forefather of the city, this mosque is one of the most stunning pieces of modern Islamic architecture you will see. Along with the coolness of the white marble against the heat of the desert it once was, there is a certain level of serenity when you enter the grounds of the mosque.
And if you really wanna pull out all the stops: SKY DIVE ABOVE THE PALM
Go on… Do it for the gram!! I know you want to…!!
